Marshall County Board of Education is always seeking outstanding applicants for all vacancies.


The Marshall County School System is now using the new state wide recruitment website.    Please

apply to the Marshall County Board of Education by going to the website at the Alabama State

Department of Education.

You will find options for the different categories of positions.  Support applicants should choose the

Classified Application option to submit an application through the online service.  You must complete

the Teach in Alabama application process to be considered for employment.


Application Process:

Step 1:  Application and accompanying documentation

A.  Complete the online Teach in Alabama                                                      


B.  (Certified positions) Attach copy of official transcripts from all                 

      colleges attended.                                                                                          

C.  (Certified positions) Attach three letters of recommendation.                                                                                                                      

D.  (Certified positions) Attach copy of valid Alabama Teacher's Certificate.  A copy of the actual

      certificate or proof that the requirements have been met and certificate applied for, is acceptable

      for application purposes. Upon employment, the original certificate must be provided.

E.   (Certified positions) Attach copy of highly qualified letter or highly qualified status. 

F.   If applying for an aide position provide a copy of an official transcript with 48 semester

      hours of college credit. All other classified positions, attach copy of high school diploma.

G.  Attach copy of criminal background clearance.    

H.  Attach copy of resume.


Step 2:  Screening

Applications are reviewed to determine if the applicant meets the requirements for the designated position. 

Applications are then reviewed to determine the most qualified candidates for current positions.


Step 3:  Interviews

Applicants will be schedules for interviews by the contact person on the job posting.


Step 4:  Recommendations

Prior to any recommendation for employment, an applicant must have a completed application on file with

all required documents.


Step 5:  Appointment  

Appointment to a position is made by the Board of Education after a candidate has verbally accepted a

contract offer and (certified) has a valid Alabama Teacher Certificate and has passed a criminal background check.  

Salary placement is based upon verification of prior years of full-time experience.


Step 6:  Orientation  

New hires are provided a packet of information regarding items related to employment. A New Employee

Orientation is provided at the beginning of the school year.  Mentor teachers are available as a resource

during the school year.
