Dr. Annie Spike
Dr. Annie Spike is the Deputy Superintendent for the Marshall County School System. She received her Bachelor's degree from Auburn University, where she is a member of the George Petrie Society. She earned her Master's and Educational Specialist degree from The University of Alabama at Birmingham and doctorate from Samford University. She also serves as the Special Education, Student Health Services, and 504 Supervisor.
Annie is an active member of the Alabama Council of Administrators of Special Education, Alabama Association of 504 Coordinators, and the Council of Leaders in Alabama Schools. She serves on the Board of Directors for all three organizations. She was recognized in 2019 as the CLAS Leadership Award nominee for outstanding educational leadership by the Alabama Council of Administrators of Special Education. Additionally, she is the Co-Chair of the Marshall County Children’s Services Facilitation Team, President of the Alabama Association of 504 Coordinators, member of the Council of Exceptional Children, Alabama Association for Supervision and Curriculum, and serves on the Board of Traditions, Inc. Through her work with high school special education transition services, she was recognized by the Greater Etowah Area Governor's Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities with the Collaboration and Partnership of the Year Awards.
