Preschool Program
The goal of the Marshall County Schools Preschool Program is to provide quality services to young children between the ages of 3 to 5 years of age with diverse abilities. Children will be given opportunities to gain developmental skills in a structured preschool environment. Developmental skill areas will be addressed through instruction, art, physical activities, music, self-help, the use of technology, and interaction with others. A preschool curriculum is used and will include those skills that will prepare each student for Kindergarten. The preschool classes are staffed with certified teachers and instructional assistants who meet the requirements for the State of Alabama and Marshall County Schools.
Depending on each child's individual needs, speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and/or behavior interventions will be provided if determined eligible for those services. Marshall County Preschools is committed to providing an environment for every child to succeed.
The classrooms provide a high quality environment for each student to be active participants in their education while working on each area of development. The Marshall County Preschool provides a play based curriculum that provides engaging gross and fine motor experiences on the playground and during small group activities. Our teachers and staff provide daily language-rich activities such as circle time, language group, and read aloud stories. We also promote problem solving skills and appropriate social interactions during independent play centers. Our program provides a high quality environment that your child can thrive in while learning the skills needed to be successful in kindergarten and beyond.
Children will have the opportunity to participate in the Child Nutrition Program and will receive breakfast and lunch.
